MacKenzie's Inner Fire

 Good Morning!!!

From WisdomNews~

"What's past is prologue."

-Shakespeare (1574 - 1616) Antonio in The Tempest

I always love to find quotes by Shakespeare, because he says things so poetically. Here are four simple words, which strung together say so much! Prologue is background, it's the leading-up to what is happening NOW. While it is important to have that background, we need to understand that each act, each new scene of our lives, begins in this moment. The show goes on!

 Just 10 more minutes, please???

Wow... I just couldn't wake up this morning!!! Usually I wake up between 6:15-6:30 and have a moment or two to myself to start the day. Honey had to keep waking me up this morning. Then, even after I was up and about, I looked and felt very much like a zombie.

The body was moving but my mind was no where to be found!!!

After Honey and Pumpkin left, I set the twinadoes up with a few episodes of Scooby Doo, pop tarts, juice and then.... I went back to bed!!!! Even though I didn't really sleep, finally when the girls came in to wake me up again, I atleast was able to function enough to help them out and then hop into the shower. When I was getting dressed, I actually happened to see a little bit of blue skies out the window. I think that's part of the problem. It's still very grey out there. Inland there was reports of snow, but here on the coast it was all rain.

The girls all had annual physicals yesterday. We were there for close to three hours!!!! The appointments themselves wasn't too bad but when she noticed that the twinadoes needed to have a series of booster shots from the ages of 4-6, I decided to break them up a little so they had two yesterday and will have two next year. In regards to shots, I feel damned if I do, damned if I don't. It's crazy....

So anyway, we had to wait around for two nurses who could give them their booster shots. One nurse for each leg and on the count of three... But then it's done and over with. Then, they needed blood work so each had to wait their turn for the lab technician. I was able to keep all three of them together while Pumpkin had hers done, but the other two were so unruly and upset by the shots at that point that I had Pumpkin and one of her sisters wait in the hall. So I can't quite see the girls, but I can hear them and suddenly there's a male voice talking with them and I know it's not the doctors.

It's so sad that you can't even feel safe with your children in a doctor's office. Pumpkin and Parrot were talking up a storm with him, and Pumpkin KNOWS better!!!! When I walked around the corner, I heard him tell the girls that he would speak to the staff there to get them some Dora the Explorer band-aids. It was the LEAST they could do after blood work. Okay, that was kinda cute. He must have seen the expression on my face because he told me that his grandchildren were down for Thanksgiving and he had to wear a Dora band-aid, much to the delight of his older granddaughter to work the following day.

Sometimes I just hate the world that we live in. I hate being suspicious of kindness. I hate that just a few really shitty people spoil it for the rest of humanity. Why can't a kindness just be a simple, pleasant kindness? Why can't a smile just be a genuine heartfelt emotion between strangers? As far as I can tell, this was just a nice person trying to make my daughters feel better. And I appreciate that. It's sweet. But the fact that I have to write "as far as I can tell" before that just absolutely bugs the hell out of me.

 It's Monday

Eyes slowly begin to peel open. Mouth dry... uh-oh... that just can't be good. And morning breath . Two big green eyes are staring intently at me.

"Mommie? Can I watch Mickey Saves Santa???"

All ready, that may be Mickey Makes Mommie Go INSANE Before the Holiday Season is Over. Since Thanksgiving, that is becoming a very used DVD. How is it that kids latch on to something and want it over and over and over and over again. Most of the time, I am able to block stuff like movies out. I think I'll be able to with this one over time. After all, I've been able to write this much on my blog before without really having to stop! And it could be worse... it could be the Bratz dolls or something crazy like that. Personally and from a mother's stand point, we have told everyone that anything Bratz is not allowed in our home. Bratz... even the name is awful!!!! and to have little girls play with dolls with whore make-up, clothes that don't cover even half the body and boobs that are even bigger than the average woman.... it's pathetic. What's worse is that they are so popular. I just don't get it..... Okay... that's quite a side track....

Last week while shopping, I took the girls into the Christmas section of the department store we were in. And of course, all the girls wanted to turn on the little stuffed animals that move and sing. Frosty, Santa in a rocking chair, A pink cat with super huge red lips that blinked her long eyelashes and sang Santa Baby, Rudolph, and a few others were there. We listened to them, much to the dismay, I'm sure, of the store attendants that were there. So I didn't really think much of when Pumpkin hit the button for another Santa. It started singing the "I like to move it, move it" song and then, the Santa swivels around with his bee-hind in the air and his bum cheeks twirl up and down and ewwww... I am extremely put out and horribly mesmerized by it all at the same time. And the girls.... the girls were laughing sooooo HARD!!!! Every one of them thought it was absolutely hysterical. So if you do happen to come across the Booty Shaking Santa.... be forewarned.

Yesterday the big tree in the sunroom went up. As with most Christmas decorating it seems, we had to move things all around. Where the tree usually goes is where all the girls had their toys so everything had to be shuffled around. Mom C took over. Okay..... and I disappeared into the house because both of us trying to do it together was just not going to work. I would had hated to bite the tip of my tongue off.

It's a fake tree, but of really nice quality. The girls had a great time helping Papa put it together. He was getting a tiny bit frazzled by all three of them asking for help all at the same time, so I let him off the hook and went out to help, too. Honey was supposed to help, but he got a call from an older woman in town who is moving closer to her son in a few days. She wasn't sure how to safely pack her computer and asked for help. He was gone longer than he wanted to be and by the time he got back, all but the top branches were put together. And then the fun started when he and Papa started putting on the lights. Oh how funny those two can be. And the lights weren't helping AT ALL. They'd have almost the whole tree taken care of when part of a strand in the middle went out. They couldn't find the problem bulb so they'd have to unwind it all again. This happened three times!!!! They were working when they tested them, but for whatever reason.... wellll.... It was really funny. We all laughed and said that it was Mepa playing tricks. Unfortunately, that really upset Mom C as of course, Mepa is her dad and this is the first Christmas without him here. We may have to do a little tight rope walking this season...

Thursday, we may get some snow!!! I've gotta say now that it looks super gray outside today and it's pretty darn cold out there. I wonder if the snow is going to hold off until then. We've already seen a few snow showers and such, but nothing has remained from them. I get the feeling that Honey really isn't going to be able to finish the garden.... whoops!!!!

Okay, well.... as much as I'd like, I just can't sit here and type all day. Humm... I wonder if I could though. I think I could. I think I could type all day long. I wonder what would come out if given the opportunity, but, there I go rambling again. Dishes to do, holiday projects to start, kids to feed and laundry to wash... Yup.. I'm outta here!!!

 For Honey on his Birthday....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yes, today is Honey's Birthday!!! We had a great day planned out where he could just relax and be with the girls and just have fun. Unfortunately, somehow messages got confused and my Mom and Nana thought we were going over there today. Him, being such a sweet guy didn't change their plans. You have to understand... it's a real loving and kind act on his part. Whenever we go over, Nana especially has a huge list of things that she wants him to do around the house. Okay, he can take that, but then, she stands leaning over his shoulder, literally, and wants it done HER way, whether its the right way or not. Then he has to try to explain to her why it won't last her way. He won't pacifer her and only to a fix that lasts a few weeks. And her, being a stubborn hard headed individual, takes that moment to a) become absolutely completely deaf (she's hard of hearing anyway but when someone says something she doesn't want to hear... look out!!!) so then he literally has to yell it out which of course makes it look like he's yelling at her when he's only trying to get her to understand, and to b) try to put the guilt trip on him.... "oh, I'm just an 87 year old dummy who should already be in the grave by now I just don't know anything... why I don't know why you don't throw me in my grave now...." .

It's just not exactly the birthday I hoped for him. I know he wanted to go and ride around on his father's new (but used) John Deere farm tractor, finish the garden (the ground is really getting frozen now....), pull up a tree stump or two, come in, have another cup of coffee, relax, maybe play a computer game or two, slouch on the couch for a bit and really..... just relax and have a do nothing day today. Poor, poor Honey.....

Maybe this would help???

Hummmm... but unfortunately, he really, REALLY dislikes cats. So maybe....

Well, maybe if I can find the right tone for another video I can add it (HERE), but now... the girls are up and Project Birthday is about to start.....

Happy Birthday to my very Sexy, very Wonderful, very Compassionate, Fabulous, Marvelous, Amazing, He~Who~Has~Captured~Me~Heart~and~Soul, who means everything to me, Honey!!!! I love you, love you, Love you...

Cheers! ~MacKenzie
